Kuwait: Is It Rich or Not?

After doing some research, I noticed that Kuwait is in the ‘top 30′ (more or less) of the world’s richest countries (by GDP). According to the article in Wikipedia, Kuwait is #23. Ok that’s fine. But, why are we one of the richest countries, when:

1- We have electrical shortages.

2- We have water shortages.

3- Our streets don’t last a decade.

4- We have people on welfare.

5- It took South Surra several years to have the basic utilities.

6- Health care is shit.

7-  We have a high rate of unemployment.

8- Extremely high mortality rate (see #6 and #9).

9- Uneducated dumbass drivers. (A bit more money spent on driving education is worth it.)

10 – 100 = I’ll let you readers fill out the rest. C’mon…let it out, I need my morning coffee anyway.

  1. Hmm.. probably covered everything on my mind… ahem thing South Surra! Tell me about it!!!! oh, also lots of people with debts o loans from banks..

  2. We are rich but we have bad management

  3. chika: the debts & loans is a cause of pure stupidity. it’s human nature to be greedy & want more money…as a result they get screwed over when buying an expensive car on loan then realize they can’t pay it back..not the country’s fault..it’s the person’s fault.

bo maryoom: i know we are rich, our money is being spent on other things when the infrastructure of our country is going to hell.

  4. I said this in my last post, when al-humaidhi said that our GDP won’t be enough, and thats from a guy who know that each year we estimate the oil barrel by 20$ tops, and it’s 70$ we had the largest gain last year, but where did it go…..?!?!

we have an over budget marginal gain, that should give us a chance to rebuild Kuwait twice a year…….!!!

either the big guns stole the whole thing, or they were so stupid they lost it, and don’t know where it is……!!!

we now pay the price of leaving old, senile, uneducated, hermits, who know nothing in anything……!!!

    thanks..

  5. yes, it’s a person’s mistake… bas when banks intenionally do this o majles elommah gives mena7 while as you said roads need fixing, while we sit home listening to money spent on stupid matters walla loans to countries that don’t deserve it ….

  6. * not so good and pricey internet connections
    * government paperwork processes are older than ancient
    * no public entertainment zones, entertainment city? come on..
    * education programs and curriculum are worse than !@#!

  12. Kuwait has a few extremely rich, and a lot of poor. As for the electricity shortages and all, do you think it is because of bad management? I dont know about the kuwaiti side of kuwait, but I do know w that there is a lot of mismanagement and corruption with bringing the new workforce to kuwait. Unlike the old days, the new workforce are usually poor and on 1 or 2 year contracts and paid peanuts.
